The Wildlands Facebook page is back online today. Parent company Meta removed the page at the end of November.
‘Suspicious activity’ had been detected at an external contact that appeared to be linked to the Wildlands page.
During the investigation, the Wildlands Facebook page was therefore taken offline as a precaution. That happened at a bad time for the zoo, just before Wildnights. In the end it turned out that nothing was wrong.
Spokesperson Hanneke Wijshake says she regrets that the investigation has taken so long, but says she is relieved that the Facebook page has returned just before the spring break. All content from recent years has also been preserved.
