Wildfire Threatens Survival of 3,000-Year-Old Redwoods in California

A virulent fire spreads uncontrollably in the heart of the yosemite park (Yosemite National Park) in California, USA. The fire is getting serious danger some of the specimens giant sequoias oldest in the area.

The flames have so far burned down about 500 hectares and more than 1,500 people have been evicted by the emergency services due to its proximity to the source of the fire.

The authorities assure that, for the moment, none of the redwoods, some with over 3,000 years oldhas been destroyed by fire.
