At FC Bayern, Thomas Tuchel’s coaching chair is shaking more than ever. A club from the Premier League apparently wants to benefit from a possible expulsion.
As the “HITC” portal reports, Tuchel is on the list at West Ham United. Team manager David Moyes’ contract with the Hammers expires at the end of the season and the search for a successor is already in full swing.
According to the report, West Ham technical director Tim Steidten wants to lure Tuchel to London in the summer. The German maintains a good relationship with the Bayern coach and hopes to convince the 50-year-old to join the Premier League club if he is released from FC Bayern.
Steidten has been working for West Ham United since summer 2023. The 44-year-old was previously a squad planner at Bayer Leverkusen; the Bundesliga club parted ways with him around a year ago.
Steidten came to Leverkusen from Werder Bremen in 2019. At Bayer, the Bremen native played a key role in putting together the player squad as sports manager.
Is Thomas Tuchel wobbling at FC Bayern?
At FC Bayern, Thomas Tuchel has recently come under increasing criticism. However, he recently received support from President Herbert Hainer.
“Sure, at the moment we are lacking the results. We now need an initial spark to overturn the much-quoted problem on the pitch. We are all working on this together and I am convinced that we can do it,” said the former Adidas CEO at ” Munich Merkur/tz”.
Tuchel shouldn’t have to worry about his job after the 1-0 defeat in the Champions League at Lazio Rome. However, doubts about him within the club are said to be growing and a separation later in the season can no longer be ruled out.
Ex-coach Hansi Flick is already being discussed as a possible successor. His name is haunting Säbener Strasse, the “Bild” reported.
