Wild claims from Katariina Souri about the evening with Spede

In March 2022, non-fiction writer and lecturer Lenita Airisto highlighted in her work Good news from the witch the claim that director and screenwriter Pertti “Spede” Pasanen tried to rape her in 1991.

Airisto’s statement regarding Pasanen’s behavior sparked discussion among several people in the entertainment industry. Among others, actress Hannele Lauri and Riitta Väisänen, who worked a lot with Pasanen, defended Pasan.

– I don’t know that kind of Pertti, and neither does anyone else from our group. But I can’t go and say that this didn’t happen. How can I know when I haven’t been there, Lauri stated in the summer of 2022.

Writer and artist Katariina Souri shared her own experience with Pasase right after Airisto’s book. Souri wrote on his own Facebook wall about the situation that happened at Spede’s home in the 90s.

In his recent biography, Souri opens up about his experiences in more detail. Souri says that after his Playboy photos, he received contacts from the filmmakers. On one occasion, Souri answered the phone, with Pasanen himself on the other end.

Pasanen was interested in hiring Souri to host something based on home videos Do it yourself program. Souri arranged a meeting with Pasanen at a restaurant in Helsinki’s Lauttasaari.

Kata complied with Pasanen’s wish and took a couple of “sexy outfits” with her, from which options suitable for the program’s marketing could be chosen. The request was strange, but life at that time was full of strange suggestions.

Tongue in ear

Souri recalls that there were so many fans around Pasanen in the restaurant that the director suggested moving to his house. After arriving at Pasanen’s apartment, Souri claims that Pasanen told her to change her clothes in Pasanen’s bedroom.

Spede got up from the sofa, walked around Kata as if scoring an impression, and then tried to forcibly drag the young woman to dance. Kata felt the tongue in her ear. With the whiskey, the host’s behavior had become even more insolent.

Souri recalls that he stated that he had to go home. According to Souri, Pasanen was not happy about the comment.

– Where do you think you are going now? We haven’t even started yet, Spede said and poured his guest a drink as well.

– Take a bite and relax.

Kata refused to be served and asked the host to call a taxi. This refused to help. Spede didn’t look very happy when Kata left the place.

Souri says in his book that he didn’t hear anything about Pasase or the job offers.
