A robbery in Rotterdam ended on Monday afternoon after a wild chase in Raamsdonksveer. A weapon was used in the robbery, according to police. Three suspects have now been arrested.
After the robbery on the Bosdreef in Rotterdam, the perpetrators fled in a car. Via the A16, the getaway car turned onto the A59. The assailants were chased by several police cars. A police helicopter was also deployed.
The Rotterdam police received help from colleagues from our province in the pursuit. The chase ended on an exit of the A59. Officers have arrested a suspect there. Several suspects were searched in the area and after some time two more people were arrested.
Money thrown out the window
Several road users witnessed the pursuit. Also Jesse, who was driving on the A59 near Oosterhout when a silver Volkswagen Golf drove by. “I heard police behind me and pulled over. The driver of the Volkswagen reached out of the window with what appeared to be a phone to film it. The co-driver threw out twenty and fifty euro notes.”
The notes landed on Jesse’s car. “I think it was thousands of euros. The money was blown over the highway.”
