René van der Gijp’s wife says she is under fire because she talks about genocide in Gaza. “Of course I brought it on myself,” says Minouche.
Minouche van der Gijp is very clear about what she believes is going on in the Gaza Strip. “I don’t feel the need to go into it much deeper than this. But really… My heart bleeds when I see the images in Gaza. NB. The images are terrible. These are images that AD and Telegraaf etc. do not show. This is genocide,” she writes Instagram.
‘What horror!’
An explosion at a hospital in Gaza City has left many victims. According to the research collective Bellingcat, it is likely no Israeli airstrike, NOS reports. Minouche speaks of a bombardment. “Please f*ck off with your precision bombs!! What bullsh*t.”
There is too little attention for the suffering in Gaza, Minouche believes. “Imagine if this happened in the Netherlands… You can’t close your eyes to this because it’s in a different place, can you? All those children… What a horror.”
Extermination
The wife of Today Inside star René van der Gijp is now getting a lot of mud all over her, she says. “I have of course brought it upon myself that I am now receiving all kinds of DMs from people who are pro-Israel. First of all, I condemn any form of violence. This also includes the atrocities that have occurred in Israel. Does Israel have the right to defend itself? Absolute.”
But this is not a defense, Minouche continues. “This is extermination… These people cannot flee while they are being bombed. No water, no food, no electricity. Once more. This is not war. Wake up! This is extermination. And those children are the victims. And I can’t digest that.”
‘I speak out’
Minouche says he thinks it is important to get involved in this debate. “In 2023, I hope there are other ways to stop this. I speak out. That’s what I can do. Regardless of the consequences. If more people would do this instead of turning a blind eye, maybe the message will get through.”
She continues to share videos of the suffering in the Gaza Strip. “I don’t get into discussions with people. If you don’t want to see these videos, unfollow me! If anyone cares about how many followers she has, it’s me. Besides donating, this is the only thing I can do for those children. AWARENESS. I don’t close my eyes.”
