Minouche van der Gijp, the wife of René van der Gijp, is very outspokenly pro-Palestine and anti-Israel and she fills her stories with it every day. She is somewhat on the same page as Johan Derksen, but is twenty times as fanatical. Anyone who thinks differently about the situation than they do will be severely criticized, and now it is De Telegraaf’s turn.

Fierce Minouche

While the men from Today Inside tried to throw a party in the Ziggo Dome last night, Gijp’s wife was behind the scenes trying to confront a journalist from De Telegraaf. If you take your wife to a party, she will make a lot of fuss. That’s beautiful. And now, a day later, she is trying to get her share via Insta.

What exactly is going on? Minouche runs out of steam Instagram: “I spoke to a journalist from De Telegraaf yesterday. I asked him why the media in the Netherlands gives so few headlines about Gaza. You have to scroll down about four pages if you want to read anything about it. The same applies to NU.nl and the AD.”

Pro-Israel

Minouche is dissatisfied with the journalist’s response. “I didn’t get a clear response to it. What was clear in his portrayal and comments is that he was pro-Israel. For example, the comments: ‘The enemy is underground’, ‘the images are not real, all staged’ and ‘the press is not allowed into Gaza because it is too dangerous’.”

A very wrong way of thinking, is Minouche’s opinion. “It’s scandalous how bad things are with the press in the Netherlands if this is the average way of thinking. With 8,000 children murdered and counting, it seems to me that this should be in bold letters at the top. These are not fictional figures, are they, AD, Telegraaf and NU?”

Gruesome images

Minouche points to the gruesome images emerging from the Gaza Strip. “How stupid to say it is too dangerous in Gaza. Ukraine is also dangerous. Syria, Afghanistan too. But there were also journalists there. They want to enter Gaza. But it’s not allowed! From Israel… What is happening there is downright beastly. Again, 8,000 children!”

Perhaps people should cancel their Telegraaf subscription en masse, Minouche concludes. “You’re not interested. No one from the editorial team is going to dig a little deeper? Or are they being stopped? Time to cancel subscriptions?? The enemy is above the ground in Gaza, but you are too blind to see that!”
