Whyte expressed at Sky Sports his dismay at what happened Saturday night. “When the uppercut came I got dizzy, but I was clearly trying to come to my senses,” he began his explanation. “He gave me another push that caused me to fall and hit my head on the canvas. That’s illegal. This isn’t wrestling, this is boxing. But they let Fury do what he wants and he gets away with it.”
Referee Mark Lyson examined Whyte after he got up and quickly decided to stop the match. The boxer was not allowed to continue fighting and had to receive medical attention. “I should have had more time to recover and then continue to fight,” says Whyte.
After camp, Fury insinuated that he wants to hang up his boxing gloves, but if it depends on Whyte, there will be another rematch. “He said he wanted to retire, I hope not because I want a rematch.”
