Churendy C. (44) and Chris Z. (24), the two suspects in the murder of Tilburg rapper Boechi, will appear in court in Willemstad on Curaçao on Friday. The rapper was shot dead in Curaçao last December. During an interim hearing in June, the suspects mainly pointed at each other. It may become clear on Friday what really happened.
Ruchendell ‘Boechi’ Windster was shot dead on December 9 last year on the Rooseveltweg in Curaçao. He came from Tilburg, made music in Papiamento and was in Curaçao for performances.
The murder took place after a performance at a food stall on the street. Boechi was fired upon from a car. The driver and shooter were arrested in April.
Churendy is suspected of driving the car. According to him, Chris shot at the rapper out of nowhere. But according to Chris, that didn’t just happen and it wasn’t about a chain. According to him, there is a client for whom both worked, he said in June.
Chris then informed the judge that Churendy was also well aware of the plan to kill Boechi for money. Before Chris walked to the car, Churendy allegedly checked the area.
Chris called on him to ‘tell the truth’ during the trial in October. “Churendy needs to tell the whole story and explain why we went ahead and who are the people who paid to kill Boechi.”
“I was not involved in Boechi’s murder,” Churendy said in turn. “I drove along Rooseveltweg three times to look at Boechi, but I did not shoot. You can look at the cameras everywhere. I cooperated with the investigation because I did not kill anyone.”
Niandy Windster-Losiabaar, the widow of rapper Boechi, does not know why her husband was murdered. “No one expected this, he never had an argument. Was it about a chain, jealousy or did he have a dark side?”
Niandy will exercise her right to speak on Friday. The two can also expect a claim for damages.
