Visually impaired Joachim was expelled from regular school: ‘They didn’t want to put in the time’
Joachim, Bodhi, Boris, Ubah, Nienke and Tim are part of a group of young people who are not only struggling, but also feel they are sidelined: they have a disability. A report from the Ombudsman for Children endorses this. “We are invisible in the city,” Bodhi says. She is visually impaired and does not feel seen or heard. “It’s like living in a different world.”
