The Hoge Kempen National Park in Limburg has had 75 hectares of vegetation less since last night and night. It was the heaviest – and due to the long drought a somewhat ‘expected’ – natural fire this year on Belgian soil. Despite the predicted rain of the coming days, the fire hazard does not seem for a long time. Limburg and Antwerp in particular remain extremely fire -hazardous areas. How is that? And which (bad) role do people continue to play in this?
