Sylvie is in the news to irritate, Victor thinks. “Her behavior is indeed just, let’s be honest, disgusting. For her, love seems to mainly consist of looking for someone who has a very big, fat wallet. I think what it gives the readers of Story, but also the viewers of Boulevard, is that it makes them feel better about themselves.”
And rightly so, he continues. “Because Sylvie Meis is of course someone who has a certain genetic talent. She looks fantastic. She is blessed with very good genes in that area. Perhaps much more than us as average persons. But at least we wouldn’t behave so badly. We don’t pick someone for his or her wallet.”
‘Sylvie cultivates’
We feel better ‘by contrasting ourselves with the despicable behavior of Sylvie Meis’, says Victor. “I think that’s why news about Sylvie scores. Because it certainly cannot be her career. I think that Sylvie in turn cultivates that a bit, because she has the problem that she has become less relevant.”
Her star status has diminished, he concludes. “And negative attention is not nice, but it is better than no attention. That’s about the worst thing that can happen to you. So I also think she does things consciously. (…) I personally think it is time for less attention to be paid to Sylvie Meis.”
