The Barcelona club defends that he appeared as a private prosecutor in the procedure in order to defend the entity from a potential crime of unfair administration in the period investigated and that if he did so at the beginning of the investigation of the case it was to position himself against payment to third partiesgiven the entity’s conviction that the crime of sports corruption does not exist.

The Barça entity assures that these value judgments issued by Joaquín Aguirre are managing to generate confusion and harm the image of FC Barcelona and its top leader when the procedure is still in its investigation phase.
Barça maintains that everything that is appearing in the media about the so-called ‘Negreira case’ is not coincidental and that the insistence on making the club appear guilty of sporting corruption is an orchestrated strategy to damage its image.. “Nothing that is shaking the government action of the management team is coincidental, underlining that FC Barcelona continues to be externally besieged by a campaign of institutional discredit based on facts that remain completely uncredited and that aims to destabilize the Club in all its areas: sporting, economic and social,” they defend in the statement.
