Why do we get cancer more often than Bulgarians? ‘One of the causes is a luxurious unhealthy lifestyle’ | Healthy

ContextIn a prosperous country like the Netherlands, proportionally more people get cancer and more people die from that disease than in poorer countries like Bulgaria. An increase is particularly noticeable among women. This is evident from a comparison between European countries of the European Cancer Information System (ECIS). Experts see several causes for this, but an important one is our unfavorable lifestyle: smoking, alcohol and obesity.
