The little ones need so long to get dressed and ready to go? But when it comes to safely transporting your offspring, you mustn’t become careless or do without a child seat.
Oh, it’s not far by car to the supermarket or the swimming pool. You can do without the child seat you need, isn’t it enough to buckle up?
Incorrect. Whenever children ride in the car, they have to be properly secured, of course also on supposedly short distances, according to the expert organization Dekra. Because in a collision at a speed of 50 km/h, the forces are the same as in a fall from the fourth floor.
According to Dekra, simply putting on a normal seat belt is not an alternative to a child seat. It is designed for taller people. He could seriously injure children even with hard braking maneuvers and even more so in an accident, for example by cutting into the neck and unfavorably distributing the pressure.
According to the road traffic regulations, children up to the age of 12 or up to a height of 1.50 meters may only travel with a child seat.

Therefore, everyone should familiarize themselves with the operation of the child seat so that the handles are properly seated. And always check before each journey that the seat is properly installed and that the child is buckled up correctly.
This does not only apply to parents, but to everyone who only occasionally takes their children with them, such as grandparents, friends, relatives or other parents as school taxis.
Anyone who secures children incorrectly or not at all in the car is not only acting dangerously, but must also expect fines and points to be registered.
