Marcus & Martinus doesn’t even know why it’s so popular in Finland.
Norwegian duo Marcus & Martinus habitually pose for the camera in Helsinki’s Hakaniemi. The twins give interviews all day at Universal. Music by Universal artists plays in the office.
– Hey, what’s this? Why are you calling? Lorena? We want to hear Wrapper, Marcus Gunnarsen says and laughs.
The brothers have been in Finland how many times.
– I can’t say how many times we’ve been here, Marcus says and looks questioningly at his brother Martinus Gunnarsen.
– I don’t remember either, we go here so often, Martinus, the quieter part of the duo, says.
Marcus gets excited to present his knowledge of Finnish.
– Hi Hi What’s up. I love you, Marcus carves.

Marcus & Martinus are former hysteria-causing child stars, now 21-year-old young men.
If anyone thought that their fans would have left the band over the years, they are wrong.
– We arrived at the airport at midnight, and there were twenty fans waiting there, Marcus and Martinus say.
There are also fans outside the record company waiting to see even a glimpse of their idols. And of course Marcus & Martinus meet their fans. On Thursday, they had a fan meeting at the Forum.
– We haven’t seen our Finnish fans for a while because of the corona pandemic. It’s really nice to see them after a long time and thanks for all the support, says Marcus.
The duo’s last concert in Finland was in June 2019. At that time, no fewer than 15,000 fans gathered at the Töölö football stadium.
– It was a wonderful concert. Finnish fans are great, says Marcus.

-Oh Why are we so popular here? You have to ask the fans that, says Marcus.
According to Marcus, the best memory of Finland is when they visited here for the first time. The year was 2016.
– We didn’t know how popular we are here. But there were fans everywhere. They surrounded our car, so we can’t go forward, says Marcus.
Finland’s visa representatives?
The Norwegian brothers have enjoyed themselves recently, especially in Sweden. They beat Sweden by Masked Singer last year. This year, the brothers participated in Melodifestivalen, where they finished second.
– We didn’t lose badly, the brothers grin.
The victory went to Loreen, who also won the Eurovision Song Contest.
The twins’ favorite was Käärijä.
– He spread joy and the song is good, says Martinus.
– The song has so much positive energy, that’s exactly what Eurovision is all about, Marcus continues.
Marcus and Martinus competing in Sweden can be surprising. Why apply for a neighboring country’s visa representative and not your home country?
– Timing. Timing is really important, says Martinus.
The duo tells how their record company and gig sellers, some of the songwriters are in Sweden, so working there is natural.

The twins still don’t know if they will ever participate in Melodifestivalen or the Norwegian five-piece qualifiers.
– Everything depends on the timing. Next, we have a European tour coming up in the fall, says Marcus.
What about Finland, could Marcus & Martinus represent Finland in Eurovision someday?
– Hahaha, yes, right next year, the twins laugh.
