‘Why are traffic obstacles becoming less and less visible?’

‘I am amazed that traffic obstacles are becoming increasingly less visible’, says reader Vincent Peelen in the weekly question & answer section of our car editors. ‘The concrete tires on the side of the road, center guides and traffic hills are gray in color. Where previously all bumps in the road with black-and-white checkered tiles and concrete tires were placed conspicuously in the road surface, it now seems as if the road manager is making an effort to camouflage them as much as possible. In the dark and in the rain, that is really dangerous. What is the reason for this?’
