The US brand management group WHP Global LLC has completed the acquisition of the Dutch denim label G-Star Raw. On Friday, the company announced the completion of the transaction announced in September.
Accordingly, the parent company of brands such as Lotto, Express, Bonobos, Anne Klein and Isaac Mizrahi acquired a majority stake in G-Star Raw. The clothing retailer’s previous owners, including founder Jos van Tilburg, will retain a minority stake.
Even after the takeover, key activities of G-Star Raw will continue to be managed by the existing management team around CEO Rob Schilder. This includes product development and marketing as well as wholesale and retail sales and online business. Under the umbrella of WHP Global, the label now wants to strengthen its presence in the USA, open up new markets and expand its range to include additional product categories, explained Schilder in a statement.
