Comedian Ali Jahangiri has completed his merchant training. He starts out as a merchant in its own K-market in Helsinki’s Kamppi on April 23.
– Starting a sales career feels very good. The business has been handled with love and we will continue the good work with a creative and enthusiastic approach, says new trader Jahangiri in Kesko’s press release.
Jahangiri will get K-market BiiliTalo as its first shop. The store is located right in the heart of Helsinki in Autotalo.
Jahangiri says in the press release that his goal is to make his store “Helsinki’s most stylish grocery store”. The Stadi slang will also appear in the shop.
– I look forward to people coming to shop, drink coffee and chat. During the summer, minor changes will be made in the store, and in the fall we will organize an official opening at BiiliTalo, the announcement reveals.
Ambivalence gone
K-market BiiliTalo has experienced other changes in addition to the change of shopkeeper. The store was previously known as K-market Pikku-Kamppi.
In 2020, the former name of the store caused great hilarity on social media. By switching the first two letters of the words Pikku-Kamppi upside down, the end result is a grotesque combination of pastry servings and a woman’s lower head.

At that time, the merchant Jouni Tuominen told Iltalehte that when coming up with the name, he had not noticed the ambivalence hidden in it.
– If it had happened, I probably would have thought twice. It is of course a great thing if you can arouse positive emotions in people. I assume that the dissidents have gotten into a good mood on social media, the former shopkeeper stated.
Stand up continues
Jahangiri said in 2021 that he dreams of a career as a merchant. Previously, he was known as a stand-up comedian.
– For a few years, I’ve been thinking about what I’ll do when it’s time for me to leave the stage. As an entrepreneur like this, I have no obstacles to try new things. The problem has been finding what I really want to do, Jahangiri wrote a few years ago.
With fatherhood, Jahangiri wanted to build something for his loved ones and children.
In Kesko’s press release, Jahangiri says that comedy has given him a lot, but now it’s time to build a career elsewhere as well.
– So we’ll still see each other at gigs, but less and more selectively, the new trader says in the announcement.
