The first candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager is Xabi Alonso, one of the club’s former players who now coaches Bayer Leverkusen. The Spanish coach responded to the Liverpool allegations at the press conference today.
Xabi Alonso made a statement at the press conference before the Borussia Mönchengladbach match to be played in the 19th week of the Bundesliga.
“I DON’T KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE WILL BRING”
When asked about the Liverpool allegations, Alonso said that he had no thoughts of going to the British giant and that Germany was the right place for him.
“It is normal to have speculations. All my focus is on Leverkusen. Jürgen’s departure is a big surprise for me. I have great respect for his dedication and achievements. But I am happy here. I enjoy it here and I love the competition here. It is an intense and beautiful journey in Leverkusen. “I don’t know what the future will bring. I’m not thinking about the next step.”
