The president of the Frankfurt Eintracht, Peter Fischer, has pithy words for the opening opponent Bayern Munich. And praises his newcomer.
Eintracht Frankfurt President Peter Fischer sees no reason to belittle Bayern Munich at the start of the Bundesliga season. “There will be an exciting mood in the stadium again, there will be energy from the ranks, the troops will be pushed,” said Fischer in an interview with RTL and ntv: “And of course we have a chance. If it ends in a draw, start I don’t want to cry either.”
The Europa League winner welcomes the series champion on Friday (8.30 p.m. / DAZN and Sat.1) with a lot of self-confidence. “Who the fuck is Mané?” asked the club boss cheekily in relation to the opponent’s star access: “By the way, we always did relatively well with a Robert Lewandowski.”
“We’re really in the mood”
Fischer later qualified his statement. “It’s going to be a party. Everyone knows that I’m also very passionate about Liverpool FC. That’s why, just for fun, I said in English, ‘Who the hell is Mané?'” The Eintracht president explained when asked by SID. “I know it. A damn good striker, a win for the Bundesliga. We’re really looking forward to this match: full of respect and motivation,” said Fischer. “The Munich team are so strong and we’re really up for it.”
Fischer raves about the top transfer from Frankfurt: Mario Götze, world champion from 2014, is “a super decent, completely normal guy. In training you can see one or the other – that’s crazy.”
