The last edition of NEWS had as its cover “Charly García’s prison”, in which the concern of the musician’s historical friends who had been prohibited from seeing him was recounted. The note read: “The situation was a pressure cooker that heated up over time, but did not explode because no one wanted to talk with the recorder on, some worried about the possibility of making the situation even worse and others. because they trusted that they could break the confinement.”
And not even a day passed after the magazine hit the streets that it was confirmed that what was written in that text was as true as it was painful. The thing is that since “Charly’s prison” became public, the pressure cooker was uncovered. And he brought a tail. Because, apart from the wide impact that the note had on radio, television and networks, it stirred the hornet’s nest among García’s friends. And even his family.
Speaking to your heart. The first to react was Josi Garcia, the musician’s sister, who historically had a bad relationship with him. She broke the silence in an interview with Clarín, and assured that he is “taken care of and recovering,” although she admitted that he “couldn’t even get up to make a coffee.”
This version clashed with the one held by historians. Charlie’s friendslike Juanse, Fabiana Cantilo and drummer Fernando Samalea. Ada Moreno, photographer of the rocker in his Sui Géneris stage and friend since then, came out to the sister’s intersection. “Charly told me that he didn’t want his sister aroundHow strange, now she is stuck in the house and giving notes in Clarín. The reality is different,” she wrote on Facebook.
Nacha Guevara, another close friend of García, also came out to give her version. “Charly is an automaton, a robot, where is he when I look into his eyes? Now it’s not him, I don’t want to see it because it’s not him. They took one drug away from him and put another on him,” he said on “PH,” Andy Kusnetzoff’s show. The statement went viral in the media and on social networks. Hernan Bruno Diaz, the coordinator of the largest group of the musician’s fans, shared the cover of NOTICIAS and maintained: “There is an irrefutable fact. Charly has not said anything out of his mouth for almost a year.”
Concern about García’s confinement continues. In the last year he only left his house three times. He only rides in a wheelchair. Everyone wants to see the great Argentine musician better.
