It’s about the last six World Cup places: a total of 16 teams from Europe and 6 teams from the other continental associations are still in the running, including top-class teams such as Italy, Turkey, Sweden and Denmark.
The “Squadra Azzurra” is particularly worried: The four-time world champion missed the last two World Cups in Russia in 2018 and in Qatar in 2022, and now has to go through the playoffs – and will do everything in his power not to fail in qualifying for a third time in a row.

Italy – Northern Ireland, the winner meets the winner of the game Wales – Bosnia-Herzegovina
Ukraine – Sweden, the winner meets the winner of the Poland – Albania game
Türkiye – Romania, the winner meets the winner of the game Slovakia – Kosovo
Denmark – North Macedonia, the winner meets the winner of the Czech Republic – Ireland game
