As usual, Google presented the top trends of the year at the end of the year. When it comes to actresses and actors in the US, nobody has caused more buzz than Johnny Depp. Of course, this has to do with the fact that he was in the limelight for weeks due to his process with Amber Heard, which was intensively accompanied and commented on by the media.
Google only measures the peaks, i.e. the highest levels of search queries. Directly behind Depp was Will Smith, who caused a negative climax in the history of the Academy Awards with his slap for Chris Rock at the Oscars (and from now on is only allowed to watch for ten years).
Unsurprisingly, Amber Heard came in third on the list of most searched actresses. She follows, also to be expected, Chris Rock on the four. Julia Fox is in fifth place. The ‘Uncut Gems’ star gained a lot of attention after she opened up about her relationship with Kanye West in an online article.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard also a Google hit in Germany
Strangely enough, Google does not publish any lists for actors or musicians in Germany. In terms of personality trends, however, Vladimir Putin is followed by Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in second and third place.
If for some reason you were wondering which duos were hot on Google this year (apparently duos are a particularly popular search), there in the top list in Germany is the divided influencer couple Bibi and Julian, just ahead of Joko & Klaas and Marianne and Michael.
