WHO advises people infected with monkeypox virus to also isolate from their pets

The World Health Organization (WHO) is warning people who become infected with the monkeypox virus and have pets to take extra precautions. Last week, a first infection in a dog was reported after the animal had slept in the bed with its infected owners. That such a thing was possible “in theory”, experts at the WHO knew. Such an infection increases the risk of dangerous mutations.
