THEn first tv tonight at 21.25 on Italia 1 will be broadcast White Elephant – Criminal codeone of the last films starring Bruce Willis just before they diagnosed him a frontotemporal dementia. Which, compulsorily, forced him to quit acting to devote himself to care and family.
White Elephant – Criminal code: the plot of the movie
The story revolves around Arnold Solomon (Bruce Willis), a boss who turns out to be the instigator of the murder of fearsome criminal rival Velasquez. The story takes an unexpected turn when Solomon orders his goons to eliminate two important witnesses: Detective Vanessa Flynn (Olga Kyrulenko) and his colleague Koschek.
While Koschek loses his life in the attack, the woman, with a heroic past in the Marines, manages to escape the ambush. Having survived, Vanessa wants to stop Solomon and discover the identity of the mole infiltrated the police but, forced to hide, she finds herself involved in a dangerous game of chesswhere every move can be fatal.

Meanwhile, the ruthless boss becomes the victim of an attack which ends with the death of his beloved wife. Convinced that the instigators are the Russians, he decides to take revenge by sending his hitmen Gabriel (Michael Rooker) and Carlo to eliminate those responsible. But, unexpectedly, Gabriel, tormented by a sense of guilt, decides to betray Solomon and helping Vanessa as an act of redemption. The two, united by a common goal, take refuge in a charming country villaready to face the last ruthless assault.
A b-movie to the last breath
Carrying some western cinema patterns inside a plot that mixes action and thriller, White Elephant – Criminal code it’s a honest b-movie without too many ambitions and with a tight budget. Despite the limitations though, the film can boast not only a stellar cast – in a secondary role we also find John Malkovich – but also a solid scriptspectacular action scenes and multifaceted characters.
Shot in Spring 2021, White Elephant – Criminal code it is though one of the last films starring Bruce Willis. That, a few months later, he will abandon the profession of actor due to the onset of a rare degenerative disease. Unfortunately, the symptoms and the the first signs surfaced during the processing of this film, as stated by al Los Angeles Times director Jesse V. Johnson who previously worked with the actor.
«It was clear he wasn’t the Bruce I remembered. Someone gave him a joke and he didn’t understand what it meant», these are the words. Several crew members also recalled that Willis looked really confused on set and, later, the director refused to make another film with him out of respect for his incredible acting career.

As he stated a few days ago the third child Talullah in an editorial written for Vogue. “I keep going from the present to the past when I talk about my father. I admit I dealt with the decline of him with an attitude of refusal which I’m certainly not proud of. The truth is, I was too sick to handle it,” she wrote the 29-year-old daughter.
“Every time I go to see my father, I continually take photos to document our time together and saved all of her voicemails to a hard drive. I’m like an archaeologist, looking for little treasuresand I’m trying to build some sort of archive for when he can no longer speak and then he will be no more. So I will always remember him and us.”
