The national maritime authority, through intense intelligence work ordered by the security portfolio, culminated in a very significant seizure of narcotics in Argentine waters. The operation organized by the Argentine Naval Prefecturefollowing strict instructions from the Ministry of National Security, unwary 289.6kg of cocaine in the roadstead of the port of La Plata, in a procedure that included two coast guard boats and a helicopter of the organism.
In the operation, called “White background”, security personnel initially detected two orange packages that were drifting. At that moment, the prefects removed the suspicious elements from the water and, after performing a test on them, narcotest, They found that it was cocaine.
Knowing, from the investigations carried out, that the criminal maneuver was even larger, those responsible for the operation continued with the search, through the coast guard. “White Bay”, who proceeded to patrol the anchoring area. Thus, they ordered a coordinated action with the PA-42 helicopter, also from the same force. As a result of this deployment, another group of seven floating packages containing the same drug was detected.
Before ending the procedure, the crew of the “Lake Colhue” found a new package. The sum of what was seized resulted in a total of 289.6 kg of cocaine, distributed in 248 loaveswith a market value that exceeds 1,560 million pesos. The investigation remains ongoing, in order to find those responsible for the criminal maneuver, under directives from the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 3by the judge Ernesto Kreplak.
