Director and screenwriter Matt Reeves is aiming for a gripping trilogy with “The Batman”. The first part will hit the cinemas on March 3rd, but there is already wild speculation as to which villain “The Dark Knight” in “Batman 2” could be dealing with.
These villains can be seen in the first part
The trailer and first published information on the atmospheric film noir epic, in which Robert Pattinson takes the leading role, already revealed some well-known characters. The Riddler (Paul Dano) and the Penguin (Colin Farrell) make life difficult for Batman in his younger days as anti-heroes.
Warning, spoilers for “The Batman”!
But that’s not all: Another adversary appears towards the end of the new film on the scene – the Joker is already making plans and could thus become a dangerous key figure in “The Batman 2”. According to rumours, however, they are currently planning with Mr. Freeze. But who knows – maybe there are several dangers to be averted at the same time again in the sequel.
These villains could also appear in “The Batman 2”.
In addition, there could be an encounter with the super villain Calendar Man and clashes with the secret society Council of Owls in the further course of Reeves’ comic film adaptation. The latter is dismissed as a wives’ tale by Gotham City’s residents, so their intervention could bring some surprises. But Batman’s sidekick Robin could also be added later. So far, however, it is still completely unclear which characters will make it into the planned second and which into the third part – and which may not be considered in the script at all or fall victim to the cut.
