Gordon wrote in his ‘farewell letter’ about five fellow celebrities who have disappointed him greatly. But who are those stars? For example, it could be Angela de Jong and Johan Derksen.
Gavin Rozario states that Gordon made two suicide threats at the end of their relationship. Threatening suicide in the event of a breakup can have a serious impact on the person against whom the threat is made, in this case Gavin. Very poignant
According to Gavin, it first happened during a FaceTime conversation, when it was about their break-up. He says in Private: “Gordon got emotional and said, ‘I’m going to end it now.’ Then he hung up the phone. I have experienced something like this up close in the past and that is very moving.”
The two were literally thousands of miles apart at the time: Gordon was in Dubai, Gavin in Melbourne. “I quickly called some of Gordon’s friends to see if they wanted to come and have a look at his house. Because I was afraid this was serious, but it turned out it was only meant to put pressure on me.”
Five celebrities
Gordon made a similar threat last Saturday, well after the breakup. “He then sent me an e-mail. (…) He mentions five Dutch celebrities, who also disappointed him. This felt like a (…) farewell letter, not one you just write. Just like last time, I called his friends to have a look.”
Fortunately, it turned out to be another false alarm. “He sent back late on Saturday evening that he was sorry. That he just misses me and that it was a cry for attention. But by threatening suicide, you are laying a very heavy claim on others, on me. That is terrible to experience and with that he tries to blackmail you emotionally.”
John and Angela?
Privé claims to have Gordon’s suicide note in his hands, but the magazine does not reveal which five celebrities are mentioned in it. A few days before his breakup, Gordon in any case gave a long interview in which he let loose on Angela de Jong and Johan Derksen, among others.
He says in this podcast for example: “According to Johan Derksen I can’t do anything. I can’t sing. That’s someone who gets a million people glued to the tube every night and has a platform. The Angela de Jongs… You can hardly beat that, dude. You can’t compete with that. You can hardly beat that.”
Another celebrity that Gordon goes wild with is Gerard Joling, with whom he has had a troubled relationship for years.
Broke
Gordon feels ‘devastated’, he says in the interview. What would he advise his younger self if he could? “Then I probably would have said to him: ‘The singing is nice, but the whole fame and all the other things that come with it… It’s going to destroy your life.’ Then I warned myself. My life has really been destroyed.”
Just like his singing career, he says. “Suppose I were to do that again… The enormous battle you have to fight with that scum that is in Hilversum, who have to judge my pictures and then throw you in the corner. I just don’t feel like it anymore. They are so disrespectful. There is not an ounce of respect left.”
Chilling
Gordon himself has stated on Instagram that he did want to end his life last Saturday and that it was therefore not emotional blackmail. According to Gavin it was blackmail and Gordon’s sister Marja also states that Gordon is not suicidal: “I am not afraid that he will jump off a flat. Gordon is good at putting things into perspective.”
Reporter Aran Bade of RTL Boulevard finds it ‘chilling’ anyway. “It’s a kind of pressure, a kind of pressure like, ‘If you do something, I’ll kill myself.’ That is of course terrible.”

Gordon seems to be doing well now. He has removed his emotional outburst at Gavin from Instagram and posted a promo of his new SBS 6 show: “Fine new things from now on! And byrrr!!!”
