FC Bayern is facing the first untitled season since 2012. Consequently, CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic are under pressure. The supervisory board meeting next Monday is about nothing less than the future of the duo. Apparently, a final decision has not yet been made.
There has been speculation for weeks as to whether Oliver Kahn will remain CEO of FC Bayern beyond the current season. After the championship final at the weekend, Munich will bring light into the darkness.
On May 30th, the supervisory board will meet to work through the already messed up season. Then it will also be about Kahn’s future in the club.
As “Bild” football boss Christian Falk reports in the “Bayern Insider” podcast, you can hear from the hallways on Säbener Straße that “nothing has been decided yet”. At the same time, it should be “unlikely” that “Kahn survives this meeting”.
Jan-Christian Dreesen is being traded as a possible successor. The chief financial officer actually wants to resign from office in the summer.
According to “Bild”, the 55-year-old is considered a “Kahn critic”. Should Kahn have to vacate his post, Dreesen would reportedly come into focus.
Sauer will probably not become the sports director of FC Bayern
In addition to the CEO, Hasan Salihamidzic is under pressure at Bayern.
According to information from the tabloid, rumors that the sports director could be replaced internally by campus boss Jochen Sauer are not true. As a result, the 50-year-old wants to continue to look after FC Bayern’s youth department in the future.
According to the assessment of “Bild” reporter Falk, Salihamidzic is more firmly in the saddle at Bayern than Kahn. The Munich-based company should then announce the final decision on Monday after their supervisory board meeting.
