Where to live stream Champions League games

It’s finally that time again: the group phase of the 2023/24 Champions League starts! TECHBOOK reveals where you can stream the season’s games live.

32 teams, 6 match days and a hopefully exciting final – the group phase of the Champions League begins on September 19th. Both FC Bayern and RB Leipzig have in their respective groups realistic chances of progressing, even if Leipzig meets defending champions Manchester City. Things should be really exciting for Borussia Dortmund in Group F. Paris Saint-Germain is considered the favorite here, but AC Milan and Newcastle United also performed strongly in the previous season and in the Premier League. Union Berlin will probably have to fight hard, but Urs Fischer’s team is known to be up for surprises. So it remains exciting. But where can you stream the Champions League games this season?

Stream Champions League for free

First of all, there is bad news: streaming the CL games is not possible for free. The only exception is the final, which will be played on June 1, 2024 at Wembley Stadium in London. ZDF streams the highlight of the Champions League for free at 9 p.m. German time.

The rights for all other games are shared by Amazon Prime Video and DAZN. Most of the games, namely 121 of the 137 games, are streamed by the paid sports streaming provider DAZN. If you want to watch the games here, you need an Unlimited subscription, which costs 44.99 euros as a monthly subscription or 29.99 euros per month as an annual subscription.

If you particularly want to follow the German games, you will find what you are looking for on Amazon Prime Video. Here you can stream the remaining 16 Champions League games – one match each on Tuesdays. A subscription to Amazon Prime costs 8.99 euros per month. As was the case last year, Sky as a streaming service provider is not involved in broadcasting the Champions League. The kick-off times are always either 6:45 p.m. or 9 p.m. German time.
