Where to get the cuts of meat with a Fair Price agreement

The government announced a new meat price agreement, within the program Fair Prices with which he expects a 30% drop in some cuts, which according to official data, can be achieved from the friday february 17 at the following prices per kilo: empty, $1,351; matambre, $1,310; skirt, $675; roast cover, $1,035; buttock, $1,375; and palette, 1,113 pesos.

The sale will be daily in supermarkets and hypermarkets grouped in the Association of United Supermarkets (includes Carrefour Argentina, Jumbo, COTO and Dayplus a group of regional chains like El Nene, Dar, La Gallega); the Argentine Chamber of Supermarkets and the Argentine Federation of Supermarkets and Self-Services (FASA) and butcher shops. After March 31, the cuts will have a pattern of 3.2% until June 30. According to what the authorities reported, from the agreement “the price with which the supermarkets were marketing the cuts was lowered by an average of 35%.”

These measures are part of the Comprehensive Program to promote the production and consumption of meat. This is a package of measures aimed at both the producing sector and the marketing sector and consumers, whose objectives, in addition to boosting the production of beef, are to promote the banking of its marketing and increase the predictability of prices. The program also proposes a monthly meat marketing goal of 18,000 tons.

One of the benefits for consumers is the refund of 10% of the total purchase if paid with a debit card. The refund will be capped at $2,000 per calendar month and will be credited 48 hours after making the purchase.

There will also be tax benefits for butcherssuch as the possibility of deferring the payment of tax obligations. Likewise, there will be subsidies to producers for up to 40% of the feed necessary for finishing the animals in corrals. The Program foresees a duration of 4 months. The measures appear after days ago there was an increase of between 15 and 20% in various cuts of meat and 40% in premium cuts.
