Janine Abbring is quite bullied by some prominent journalists. They wonder why the presenter was chosen for the presentation of Zomergasten.
Since the departure of the very first presenter, Peter van Ingen, it has not happened that a presenter has presented so many seasons of Zomergasten as Janine Abbring. She’s almost finished her sixth series and she may just be adding another one next year. Not everyone is happy about that, though.
Sticking out eyes
Telegraaf journalist Kitty Herweijer refused to watch the episode with Raven van Dorst on Sunday evening. During the broadcast, she posted a mean tweet about Janine: “No no, I don’t watch Zomergasten. As soon as Janine Abbring puts that finger on her chin, I want to gouge my eyes out.”
Kitty said earlier this summer that she denounces Janine’s ‘irritating manners’. “Difficult look at it. Nod thoughtfully. Finger under the chin. Endlessly interrupting with irrelevant questions. (…) It really is time for something new.”
Guido lashes out
Story boss Guido den Aantrekker does not like to look at it either. “What is actually the reason that Janine Abbring presents Zomergasten, does anyone know?”
Who would he rather see? “I’m not a fan, I never actually watch. Would love to see Beau do it. Has enough depth and general knowledge for it, and would add lightheartedness and humor, which I am missing now.”
‘New host please!’
NieuwNieuws journalist Bas Paternotte also thinks it is time for the VPRO to put someone else forward. “I really liked her session with Eberhard van der Laan. I am also ready for a new presenter.”
To Guido: “If the VPRO has guts, they will hire you. Summer guests with Michiel Blijboom as a presenter would also be epic. Delivers beautiful deep silences!”
Guido: “Great idea. Summer bastards.”
