According to the verdict in 2004, Hans-Joachim F. killed his victim Dörte Krößmann on March 3, 2002. It was only months after the verdict that he gave the investigators a tip: the murder commission found Dörte Krößmann on the edge of a former gravel works near Nauen (Havelland).

He was unable to explain why he held a knife in his hand during the argument with the woman who was physically inferior to him. Following his act, F. had directed suspicion to other people. So he hid the blood-smeared knife with the eleven-centimetre-long blade and her glasses with Andy P., an employee of the facility’s workshop for the disabled.
Particularly cold-blooded: Even before that, he wrote a fictitious farewell letter to Dörte’s mother Helga in Falkensee, in which she announced her lovesick suicide. He also wrote a letter to the editor “of a family” to a newspaper that Dörte Krößmann claims to have seen with Andy P.
Dörte Krößmann had not returned from a walk in the park of the Havelland Clinic Nauen that Sunday 21 years ago.
