Your partner or brother as a caddie – that’s what you get at the golf tournament on Lake Seddin.
Tee off at the Seddiner See Golf and Country Club! The best 126 players from Europe fight for 300,000 euros in prize money at the “Amundi German Masters”.
For the first time since 2016, the Ladies European Tour is back in Germany and the competition for the professional golfers is often very informal. Some players have their boyfriend or brother with them as a caddie (that’s what the bag carriers and game advisors are called).
Germany’s star Esther Henseleit (23) relies on this nice kind of support: she lets her friend Reece Phillips carry her bag the total of 7 kilometers across the field.
Reece is not only her significant other but also her trainer. As a team, they won their first tournament together in Kenya in February of this year. Reece: “We’re often asked in what order we met. Friend, coach, caddy – that was the order.”
Colleague Karolin Lampert (27) goes for a round with her brother Moritz (30) (himself a golf pro). Lampert: “Mo turned pro a year before me and I learned a lot from his experience in the first few years as a professional. It’s nice to have him with us.”
For the favorite Linn Grant (22) from Sweden, who has already won five times this year, her friend Pontus Samuelsson (22) is actually her lucky charm. With her lover, herself a top golfer, as caddy, Grant won the “Scandinavian Mixed” just two weeks ago and even beat the men in the tournament with a sensational lead of nine strokes. This time he is not there, she comes with caddy David Taylor.
Will it still be enough for the next win?
