Janni Hussi, 30, is a multi-purpose entrepreneur whose everyday life is built around work. In a recent interview with Apu magazine, he explains how he also conquered the radio waves.

In addition to TV programs, Hussi hosts Radio Suomipopi’s popular Aamulypsy program on radio. Hussi, who became familiar with fitness sports, had dreamed of radio work for a long time, but in 2019, he decided it was time to act. He contacted the directors of the audiobook, podcast and radio service Supla and said he would love to try out the audio work.

Hussi thought his own podcast could be the first step in the right direction.

– At the end of the meeting, I said with a bit of hesitation that of course the radio is also interesting. That if you have any cases of illness or anything, I’ll be happy to see you, Hussi says.

Soon Hussi got a call that Suomipop would have its own program place open, on weekends. The place was Hussin.

The first weekend the radio house was quiet. There was no one to guide Huss with the technical equipment. Hussi panicked and sent a message to his mother before the broadcast: “then tell me if my voice is heard”.

“Yes it does,” Mom replied.

Hussi made her program from January to the beginning of the summer holidays, and just then Anni Hautala announced that she was again on maternity leave from the morning milking. Hussi decided it was time to open his mouth again. Hussi hinted that he was interested and still in the morning.

The test drive went well. At first, the feedback Huss received was crushing.

– Many people posted that they were terrified that I had replaced Ann. Then they said they had listened to the program and changed their minds. I wasn’t a bimbo, I threw a fun flap, Hussi says.
