‘When it rains, Ahoy remains empty’

Sometimes all the plagues come at once: André Hazes Jr. now also has to fear the weather forecast. “If it rains on November 25, the folk singer will still be left with an empty hall.”

André Hazes Jr.’s team does the craziest antics to fill his flop concert. You won’t find those cards under the lid of a tub of margarine, so to speak. These things are thrown around everywhere: the idea is apparently that people will only want to come if it is virtually free.

Ahoy empty when it rains

However, according to Privé boss Evert Santegoeds, there is a huge risk in offering those concert tickets at dump prices. When Willemijn Hoebert says on November 25 that it will rain, he says no one will come. “It now sells for 8 euros. But will those people also come?”, he wonders Show news.

He continues: “Cards are also simply given away. There are staff associations in the Rotterdam area and they are simply offered tickets. Those people didn’t pay for it, so they might say on Friday: “It’s raining, so I don’t feel like it at all.” Then you still end up with an empty room. It is very vulnerable.”

Financial noose

This will all end very badly financially, Evert predicts. “It’s just a hassle and MediaLane can suffer from that, but when they announced this, it was not without reason that they also kept Ahoy free the following evenings, because then there would have to be a second evening and perhaps another one.”

Colleague Bart Ettekoven: “Today they deny to our editors that it will be a financial blow. (…) But you can get the tickets for next to nothing. People wonder: how is that possible, I paid 80 euros when I bought tickets last year and now you can get tickets for 8 euros at VakantieVeilingen.”

What does André say?

What does André himself say about it? “André himself is on Bonaire, so he is not available for comment,” says Bart.

Ah, the transmission towers are turned off on Bonaire. Shame. “We have spoken to producer MediaLane and they let us know that it only concerns tickets on the second ring, so the field tickets and first ring will simply be sold for regular prices. They also say: ‘This happens to other artists too. Tino Martin is also at Holiday Auctions.’”

Evert: “Yes, but not before with André Hazes. Then he had not one evening, but three and then it was just full.”

Hyper focus

Dyantha Brooks sympathizes with André. “Isn’t it really sad that there is such a hyperfocus on that album that is declining, that ticket sales?”

Evert: “Yes, but that is news. If everything goes well, he lives up to the status he has, but now that it’s all going wrong, I think it’s more news than if it all went well.”

Dyantha: “Is it really all going wrong?”

Evert: “Yes, everything goes wrong.”

Bright.
