The gaming company Razer and the sustainable shoe brand Cariuma are releasing two sneaker models together. The sneakers are made from certified cotton, natural rubber and recycled plastic. The design is derived from the Cariuma model OCA and is offered in a high and a low version.
The black canvas sneaker features “Sneki Snek”, a mascot created by Razer in conjunction with the #GoGreenWithRazer initiative. Razer sees the collaboration as an opportunity to sensitize its young customers to sustainability.
According to the founders, Fernando Porto and David Python, Cariuma was born on the basis of sustainability and social responsibility. Cariuma develops designs that combine style and comfort. Sustainable materials such as bamboo, cork and recycled plastic are used. The company also focuses on preserving the Brazilian rainforest. For every pair of shoes Cariuma sells, the company plants two trees. To this end, Cariuma is working with the Brazilian NGO Cepan.
The sneaker will be available in the Cariuma webshop from January 25th. The OCA High costs $98 and the OCA Low costs $79.
