“What’s that supposed to mean?” Tuchel defends himself against the report

The coach of the German record champions is said to have made a derogatory remark to his players. Now Thomas Tuchel has commented on the report – and it is clear.

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has vehemently defended himself against a report that he told his players in the dressing room after the 3-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen: “You’re not as good as I thought. Then I’ll just have to adapt to your level ” dismissed. Sky reported this on Thursday (read more about it here).

At the Bayern press conference on Saturday before the game against Bochum, the 50-year-old said: “This sentence is completely absurd. A coach who says a sentence like that will no longer get on the bus with his team after that a meeting. What’s the point? We’ve never done that and we never will.”

Tuchel further announced: “We will continue to push the team and will also continue to push our entire staff, always at eye level, and always together. There is no other way. And there is no other way, especially when times are difficult “We need every player now, the tiniest ego has to be left out now, from the coach, from the player, from the kit manager, from everyone. Otherwise you won’t get through such a stormy phase.”

Bayern press spokesman Dieter Nickles had previously denied the pay-TV channel’s report. The sentence never took place like that. “That’s simply not right, and it’s not the truth. Such sentences are released into the media world and sometimes have a toxic and undignified effect.”
