Emotions are running high after Borussia Dortmund’s bitter defeat by RB Leipzig. A black and yellow top performer clashes with a trailer.
Borussia Dortmund’s 4-1 defeat in the top game against RB Leipzig left its mark – on the team and also on the fans of the black and yellow. After the bankruptcy, there was frustration in Signal Iduna Park, “Sport1” reports numerous wild insults and abuse of the spectators in the direction of their own team.
A supporter apparently went at least one step too far: because BVB defender Manuel Akanji, who was already ready for the interview with the broadcaster, gestured angrily in the direction of the main grandstand and asked: “What’s that crap about?” And further: “What are you actually going to the stadium for when you insult us like that?” According to “Sport1”, Akanji was insulted “below the belt”.
An employee of the BVB media department had to calm down the Swiss. The 26-year-old then said: “Any criticism of our performance is absolutely fine, but when you come up with other things, then I don’t understand it.” The behavior of such fans is incomprehensible: “I don’t understand why people come here and badmouth the players. I understand when you’re angry. But sometimes I wish I had more support.”
The clear 1: 4 of the team of coach Marco Rose destroyed the last glimmer of hope for an exciting title fight with leaders FC Bayern – the nerves seem to be at least a little blank in Dortmund. At least for the supporters in the stands.
