The radio program WAKE! and John de Bever are doing everything they can to get the Gouden Televizier-Ring to Brabant. Anyone entering our province on the A16 highway from Belgium will see a huge banner for John and his husband Kees just before the Galder junction. “The owner of the scaffolding came up with the idea himself.”
John de Bever is competing with his reality program De Bevers for a Golden Televizier Ring. Especially for this he climbed into the scaffolding to hang a large banner. The idea came from the owner of Hoeve Galderzicht in Breda, who is a big fan of De Bevers and spontaneously offered the scaffolding to advertise.
Together with presenter Koen Wijn of the Omroep Brabant radio program WAKKER! John de Bever hung the twelve square meter canvas. “You can see the men hanging well when you drive into the Netherlands,” says Koen with a laugh.
‘Top three’
Next week it will be announced which television programs belong to the provisional top seven for the Gouden Televizier-Ring. “They were already in the top ten recently, so that provisional top seven should also work,” thinks the presenter of the morning show. “Although of course we go for the top three.”
That final top three goes to the Golden Televizier-Ring Gala in Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam. The final winner will be announced there on October 6. “I think De Bevers really have a chance. They are very normal and are therefore very much appreciated,” Koen thinks.
very serious
The support from WAKE! is a ‘serious joke’ according to Koen, but for John de Bever it is slightly different. “It is very serious for him. He still has an old Nokia himself and he is not that technical, but he does explain to people how to vote for De Bevers with a smartphone.”
If John wins the prize, a tattoo parlor can count on extra business. Good friend Johan Derksen then gets a spot on his upper arm, just like Kees, his husband and manager, and our radio program.
