For example, users see someone who wants to promote a computer game on the profile of American rapper Jay-Z or people who randomly send messages to other celebrities such as Shakira or Eminem. The messages appear en masse on the timeline of Facebook users and are really about nothing. Presumably the strange messages are the result of a ‘glitch’.
Cause
Many Facebook users are already reporting the problem on Twitter. It is not yet clear what caused the error and when the problem would be solved. Other social media products from parent company Meta, such as Messenger, Instagram and Whatsapp, have not yet reported similar problems.
According to Down Detector, a website that detects outages on apps and websites, the problem is said to affect 20 percent of users.
