What you should know about The Row

16 years after its founding, the US fashion label The Row presented its collection for the first time at the Fashion Week in Paris at the beginning of March. The brand was one of the labels newly added to the Paris Fashion Week calendar alongside Vaquera, Ester Manas, Germanier and Vtmnts.

founding

After a successful career on the television screen and in cinema, twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen tried their luck in the fashion industry in 2006. Together they founded the luxury label The Row, whose name is a homage to the famous London tailoring street, Savile Row.

evolution

In 2006, The Row presented its first collection, consisting of a t-shirt, leggings and a dress.

In 2012, the Olsen sisters won the Womenswear Designer of the Year award presented by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. An award they received again in 2015.

expansion

The first The Row boutique opened in Los Angeles in 2014. Two years later, in 2016, the brand opened a flagship store in New York, followed by a store in London in 2019.

In August 2018, The Row announced the release of a full menswear collection. Twelve years after founding the label and after releasing two men’s capsule collections in 2011 and 2016, the Olsen sisters launched a permanent men’s line. The collection hit stores in October 2018.

In June 2019, The Row entered the online market. The brand launched its online store operated by Yoox Net-A-Porter Group. The online shop announced that it wants to be present in 69 countries worldwide, including the USA, Great Britain and Germany.

Now they are part of Paris Fashion Week, a nobility for any fashion house. What does the future hold for the two designers?
