The relationship between Pelé and Xuxa began in the 80’s. They met at a rehearsal to appear on the cover of a magazine. Both were already famous: Xuxa was just beginning to take his first steps in the Brazilian show business and Pelé had just retired from soccer and divorced from her first marriage, with whom she had three children. Both were instantly captivated by the other, but it was not going to be easy for the couple to show themselves publicly, since the age difference was overwhelming: Xuxa was 17, Pelé was 40.
