In the French city of Annecy, in the east of the country, a man committed a knife attack in a playground on Thursday morning. Six people, four children and two adults, were seriously injured. One child has Dutch nationality. The perpetrator, a Syrian asylum seeker, was arrested. The prosecutor ruled that the knife attack is very likely not an act of terrorism. The prefecture has issued a ban on demonstrations.
