Unpublished final in this year’s edition, with Real Madrid and Osasuna de Pamplona face to face

The most traditional event on the Spanish football calendar is the Cup final. 121 years after the first edition, and after having gone through several denominations -of the King, of Spain, of the Generalissimo…- this Saturday the honorary title of Champion of Spain is up for grabs again.
The 2023 final will be played on Saturday, May 6 starting at 10:00 p.m. at the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville. The finalists are Real Madrid, after leaving FC Barcelona by the wayside in the semifinals by a 4-1 aggregate, and Osasuna from Pamplona.The Navarrese will play what is only the second final in their history after an exciting semifinal against Athletic Club.
After the 1-0 draw in Pamplona in the first leg, the second leg at San Mamés went to extra time, but 116 minutes into the match, a sensational volley from Pablo Ibáñez gave Arrasate’s men the pass.
For Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid it will mean returning to the last instance of the KO competition after a whopping nine years of absence. The whites have not played in the cup final since 2014, precisely also with Ancelotti on the bench with a 2-1 win over Barcelona.
