ASSIST. Cédric Vandecasteele (33) gets 17 years in prison for patricide: “An extreme outburst of violence”
Cédric Vandecasteele (33) was sentenced to 17 years in prison for parental murder in the Bruges assize court. The Boezingenaar killed his father Ghislain (55) on July 25, 2019 with sixteen stab wounds. He had asked for the acquittal in vain, because he was in psychosis at the time of the facts. “His mother can live with the sentence, although she secretly hoped for less,” said Kris Vincke, the lawyer for Cédric’s mom.
