Will it be an outdoor weekend? As far as we are concerned, yes, with the weather forecast in mind. That is why we have a nice collection of activities in Drenthe that let you go outside. From wonderful tranquility to wonderful noise and spectacle: choose what you feel like.

Events on Saturday and all weekend:

It has already started, and will last all weekend: the Street Art Festival Emmen. Artists from the Netherlands and abroad transform the Emmerhout district into a Street Art Valhalla. Not only can you see it, it can also be done. There are workshops in graffiti, dance and rap, but you can also just watch the making of colorful murals.

For example, in the project ‘De Geheime Magpieclub’: led by artist Xander van Soelen, various houses in the neighborhood are painted with….yes, colorful magpies.

Actually, every weekend is suitable for a flea market. That’s good, because now there is one in Tiendeveen. It will happen on Saturday, in and around the Reformed Church in Tiendeveen. Art and kitsch, plants, electrical appliances, in short: everything you would expect to find at such a market. The proceeds are used for the maintenance of church buildings.

Be on time, because it lasts Saturday until 12 noon. You can go from 8.30 am.

It’s a party in Nieuw-Buinen, because the village has been around for 200 years. The village itself celebrates this, of course, but you can also visit ‘from outside’ for, for example, the old-timer show on Saturday.

There is also a tour: the participants drive a round in and around Nieuw-Buinen, from 3 to 4 pm.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the old-timers can be seen for free at the skate and ice rink in the village. Just look, don’t touch!
