What is there to do in Drenthe this weekend?

The mercury is slowly rising and for most primary school students the May holiday starts this weekend. Ideal conditions to go out on Saturday and Sunday. Below you can read an overview of the activities in our province.

Activities on Saturday:

The ‘OERfashion’ exhibition will be opened on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the OERmuseum in Diever. The exhibition shows what our distant ancestors wore in different geological periods. How were the garments made, which jewelery was worn, but also which raw materials were used in the past? A connection is also made with the clothing of today: which sports from that time can still be seen in contemporary clothing.

The star team of RTL 7 will settle in Meppel on Saturday afternoon to compete against the fourth team of the local FC. At sports park Ezinge you can admire John Williams, Buddy Vedder, Danny Froger, Baas B, but also former football players Nathan Rutjes, Pascal Bosschaart and Romano Denneboom. The kick-off is at 6.30 pm at sports park Ezinge.

On the Nature Experience Day, adults can experience what is happening in the municipality of Coevorden to make the environment greener and more beautiful. The Green Alliantie Coevorden and IVN Nature Education show which initiatives exist in the municipality to strengthen biodiversity. There is also plenty to do for children, such as spotting birdhouses with binoculars, examining water creatures and a butterfly and bee game. The Nature Experience Day starts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Daoler Tuun in Dalen.
