The new video by Till Lindemann celebrates on September 8th at 3 p.m Premiere on YouTube. It’s called “Tongue” and – as usual from the artist – it shows quite disturbing images. Among other things, he can be seen bloody and with his mouth sewn shut. Other scenes that he has already shared on Instagram also show him covered in blood in a cage.
It is unclear whether Till Lindemann actually had his mouth sewn shut for the clip – the teaser image of the age-restricted video at least looks authentic and the musician would also be able to do it. After all, he has already done so before for filming “I’ll Hurt You” have a hole pierced in the cheek so that light can shine from the mouth. Furthermore, a plastic surgeon and his assistant are mentioned in the credits, which could indicate a sewing up. A woman – Aglaya Tarasova – and a raven also appear in the video for the song “Tongue”. Tigers are also mentioned in the credits, who apparently also play a role in the clip.
What does the video mean?
Given the shocking images, it makes sense to attribute a deeper meaning to the whole thing. Whether Till Lindemann would like to use the video to take a position on the allegations of the past few months would be pure speculation. According to “Bild”, at least the song has nothing to do with the current situation. As the newspaper explained, “Zunge” had already been recorded before Irishwoman Shelby Lynn spoke out about her alleged experiences at a Rammstein concert.
Till Lindemann: The public prosecutor’s office has stopped investigating
After almost four months in which Till Lindemann and his band Rammstein were confronted with serious allegations, the investigation by the Berlin public prosecutor’s office was recently discontinued. From a legal point of view, the singer cannot currently be proven to have committed any wrongdoing – he had also stated through his lawyers that the allegations were “all untrue”.
